Several counties in the state of Missouri have been declared a disaster area. But a deadline is coming up quickly to file the application to get some assistance.

During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, September 16, Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden talked about the specifics.

In other news from the meeting, commissioners reported six cars put on the auction block by the sheriff’s department were secured by bids from the public. The sheriff’s office approved the winning bids that ranged from $1,005 to $2,868.

Also, Antonio Belton was approved as a newhire for the sheriff’s department. He will be employed in the road division of the department. He started his position earlier this month.
