An area murder suspect is due in court on Wednesday, September 22.

According to Benton County authorities, 28-year-old Lance M. Lyman, of Warsaw, was shot and died at the Warsaw Ambulance Base before he could be life-flighted on July 18. An investigation led authorities to arrest John Moreno, of Warsaw.

Court documents say Moreno is charged with murder in the second degree, two counts of armed criminal action and assault in the first degree. Moreno is being held with no bond at Benton County Jail.

Moreno entered a not-guilty plea on July 20.

His next hearing is scheduled to be held at 1 p.m. at Benton County Circuit Court.
