Activities Director Kelly Callanan, representing the Extra-Duty Stipend Committee, addressed the Marshall School Board during its meeting this week.

According to unofficial minutes, Callanan presented a recommendation to add MHS Drumline Leaders to Category 11 in the amount of $1,295 and remove Competition Cheer from Category 11 in the same amount. The committee also recommended to add hourly compensations to the extra-duty schedule: $25 per hour to cover detention outside of contact time; $15 per hour to cover a class during one’s planning time; and $25 per hour for curriculum work outside of contact time. The board unanimously approved the recommendations.

In other news, the board approved a request to change the assistant Bueker Middle School football coach to head football coach to align with the rest of the sports at BMS. All other sports that have separate seventh- and eighth-grade teams, the head coach of each team is paid the same.

Also, the board unanimously approved FBLA members to attend the National Fall Leadership Conference in Orlando.
