
The active COVID-19 case count has increased slightly in Lafayette County over the last few days.
According to the Lafayette County Health Department, the active case count was 70 as of Monday, September 27, up from 61 on Friday, September 24.
There has been a total of 3,490 positive cases- up from 3,451 on Friday- and 71 COVID-19-related deaths in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.
The positivity rate was reported as 9.11 percent, and there are 16 persons hospitalized- up from 14 on Friday- due to the virus in the county.
The Lafayette County Health Department is offering the Pfizer vaccine from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. The Pfizer vaccine is available to all residents at least 12 years of age.
