The Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen talked about a bid to replace a fence during its meeting on Monday, October 11.

According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, City Clerk Michelle Fuehring reported the city received one bid to replace the fence on the north side of the basketball court. The bid of $2,930.20 was from C-R Fencing in Concordia. Fuehring said the recreation board has funds to pay for the work, so it was approved by the board of aldermen.

In other news, Fuehring said the city only received one bid to install a sidewalk barrier on Marshall Street at the bridge. She said the bid had different pricing depending on the size of pipe bollards the city chooses. After some discussion, aldermen voted to table a decision on a bid for the sidewalk barrier.

The board also approved a request by Tara Brewer to close South Miller Street at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, for Trunk or Treat.

Also, the board set a public hearing regarding the proposed rezoning of lots in the Jon Herring and Magness Additions for 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 28.
