A single vehicle traffic crash in Johnson County Sunday night sent the vehicle’s driver to the hospital.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as the northbound vehicle, driven by 32-year-old Lauren West, of Windsor, ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned.

West sustained serious injuries, despite wearing a safety device, and was transported to Truman University Health Center by Life Flight Helicopter.

The crash happened at approximately 7:08 p.m. on 624 Missouri-23 in Knob Noster.
