
A 34-year-old Sedalia man has been charged with felonies for allegedly assaulting a woman and threatening to cut her while holding a knife on November 1.
A Sedalia Police report says officers responded to a residence in reference to a physical disturbance. A woman told authorities Richard Curd grabbed a small knife from the kitchen and put it to her throat and said he could cut her. She said Curd then grabbed her left arm, pinned her against the wall, grabbed her throat and choked her. The woman’s 6-year-old daughter told authorities she saw Curd with a knife.
Curd told authorities the argument was verbal and not physical and denied grabbing a knife.
Court documents say Curd is charged with felonies for assault in the third degree and unlawful use of a weapon- exhibiting. Bond is fixed at $10,000 cash or surety.
Curd’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
