A Knob Noster man is facing a felony charge after a reported dangerous pursuit in the wrong direction on a major highway in the KMMO listening area on November 12.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper, he was notified of a vehicle traveling the wrong direction- westbound in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 50 in Johnson County. Once the trooper located the vehicle and turned on his emergency lights, a vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspect vehicle met several oncoming vehicles and failed to yield to Warrensburg Police officers. The suspect vehicle struck a guardrail, but the suspect didn’t stop. He eventually turned around and traveled in the eastbound lanes. The suspect eventually stopped the vehicle and was taken into custody. Authorities say Timmothy Rhoton obviously was intoxicated.
Court documents say Rhoton is charged with a felony for resisting arrest and two driving-related misdemeanors. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only.
Rhoton’s initial hearing is pending at Johnson County Circuit Court.
