After reaching triple digits on November 15, the active case count of COVID-19 has fallen in Pettis County.

According to the Pettis County Health Center, the active case count was 101 on November 15, and it was 87 on Wednesday, November 24.

The COVID-19-related death total increased by five to 110 in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.

There were 83 total positive cases from November 15 through 21, including 13 breakthrough cases- six Pfizer, six Moderna and one Johnson & Johnson- making the breakthrough rate 15.6 percent for the week. Breakthrough cases are persons who have tested positive for the virus after being fully vaccinated- their last shot being at least two weeks prior to testing positive.

In all, 7,690 total positive cases have been confirmed in the county, and three persons currently are hospitalized.

The positivity rate for tests was 8.9 percent during the week.
