
Dorothy L. Salyer, 96, of Slater, MO, died Saturday, November 27, at Boone Health Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow at Waverly Cemetery in Waverly. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Big Bend Retreat and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com
Born August 28, 1925, in Waverly, MO, she was the daughter of the late Ralph H. Page and Beulah F. Coslet Page. On December 19, 1954, she married Francis “Frank” Salyer who preceded her in death on April 26, 1995. Dorothy was a homemaker most of her life, but did work at various factory jobs through the years. She moved to Slater in 1996, previously living in Kansas City. Dorothy was a people person and enjoyed visiting anytime she could. She could be found at the YMCA in Marshall walking as well as working on little projects to give to her friends and neighbors.
Survivors include three siblings: Lova Blay and Geraldine Wilson, both of Kansas City, and Harold Lewis Page of Edwardsville, KS; as well as many nieces, nephews and their families; four grandchildren: Robin, John, Jason, and Jessica and their families; and three very special friends, Romyna Meyer, Betty Shepard and Rita Mitchell.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by one daughter, Judith Ann Dennis; three sisters and two brothers.
