Just before 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, emergency crews were on the scene at Southwood Lane and Southwood Circle in  reference to a collapsed roadway impacting all residents south of the intersection in Sedalia.

According to a release from Pettis County Sheriff Brad Anders, the roadway collapsed after a controlled burn appeared to impact a plastic culvert.

A resident and firefighter sustained injuries during this event.

According to Anders, the roadway was reopened at 5:30 p.m.
