The Lafayette County Health Department has reported two additional COVID-19 related deaths on Monday, December 6.

According to the health department’s weekly report, the deaths raises the total to 77 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 89 active cases and 14 individuals hospitalized in the county.

As of December 6, the county’s positivity rate was 15.93 percent, up from 12.6 percent in the past week, according to the CDC COVID Data Tracker.

As a reminder, the health department is administering the COVID-19 vaccine Mondays and Wednesdays at its clinic. The clinic is scheduled to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
