
Due to a six-inch water-main being hit on U.S. Highway 24, near the Dover water tower in Lafayette County, Consolidated Public Water Supply District No. 2 has issued a boil advisory for its customers north of Highway 20, east of Highway 213 and west of Highway 23.
According to a news release, the incident caused the water tower to drain and disrupt service to its customers. At approximately 1 p.m., crews began repairing the leak.
Officials say customers may experience discolored water as the system returns to normal. The boil advisory will be in affect until 3 p.m. Sunday, December 19.
