From December 13-19, more than 13 percent of all positive cases of COVID-19 were breakthrough cases in Pettis County.

According to Pettis County Health Center officials, the vaccine breakthrough ratio was 22 out of 163 positive cases, which is 13.4 percent or 86.6 percent not vaccinated.

As of December 20, there was a total of 8,260 positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic. There are currently 12 individuals hospitalized at Bothwell Regional Hospital, as compared to 14 last week.

In other news, health officials say this season there have been 74 Pettis County residents with reported cases of influenza. During the entire 2020-21 influenza season there were less than ten reported cases.
