If you are having trouble paying your utility bills, there might be help available.

According to Chariton County officials, a Utility Assistance Information event is scheduled to be held this week.

County residents are invited to attend the event from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, at Keytesville City Hall at 404 West Bridge Street.

During the event, you will be able to receive information on the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Evergy’s Economic Relief Pilot Program (ERPP).

Another entity scheduled to be represented is the Missouri Valley Community Action Agency.

Applications will be available. You need to bring Social Security numbers for all members of your household and proof of income.
