At the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, March 31, Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden announced a countywide cleanup event is scheduled for the second Saturday in April.
Gooden said plans for the recycling and waste collection event were finalized on Tuesday, March 29, during a Region F Waste Management meeting.
Gooden said several items will be accepted.
Gooden said yard waste and household hazardous waste will not be accepted at the fairgrounds, but will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the compost area at 26523 245th Road in Marshall.
Gooden says there are other events scheduled around the state that will be accepting fertilizers and pesticides.
Again, hours for the collection event are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Saline County Fairgrounds.
