UPDATE: ACCORDING TO AUTHORITIES, STEVE KENT HOWERTON HAS BEEN LOCATED AND IS SAFE.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department has issued an Endangered SILVER Advisory for a missing adult incident that occurred 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, at 314 Northwest 1351 Road.

A news release says the endangered SILVER advisory missing adult is 76-year-old Steve Kent Howerton, a white male who is 6-foot and 180 pounds, with gray hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue sweater with green lines and blue sweat pants.

Howerton, who has a diagnosed medical condition of alzheimer’s, left the address westbound on US 50 in a white 2004 GMC Envoy bearing Missouri license plate JF9 S9T. Anyone seeing the missing person, suspect, associate or vehicle, or anyone having any information related to the endangered missing person should immediately dial 9-1-1 to contact the nearest law-enforcement agency or call the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department at (660) 747-5511.
