A Sedalia man who has been charged with murder in the death of 24-year-old Micah Munro on August 23, 2021, is due in court.

A news release says Sedalia Police responded to South Quincy on a report of a male- Munro- not breathing. First responders immediately began life-saving measures, but despite extensive efforts to save Munro, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Via toxicology reports, it was determined that fentanyl was the cause of death.

A lengthy investigation revealed the supplier allegedly was Nathan Riga. Riga allegedly supplied Munro with fentanyl capsules just hours before his death.

According to court documents, Riga is charged with felonies for second-degree murder, delivery of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution. He is being held without bond.

Riga was indicted by a grand jury on March 8. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 4, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
