Carroll County Memorial Hospital recently hosted a visit with Representative Peggy McGaugh, District 39.

According to a release, the Missouri Hospital Association recommended inviting state legislators to hospital sites to discuss topics of interest and to do a bit of “show and tell.”

“We appreciated the time that Rep. McGaugh shared with us to discuss pertinent healthcare legislation, tour our facility and speak with our employees who have given so much of themselves over the last two years,” said Scott Thoreson, CCMH Chief Executive Officer.

CCMH Board of Directors members arranged for Rep. McGaugh to visit CCMH in March. During the visit, hospital leadership and Rep. McGaugh discussed changes, challenges and successes at CCMH.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to visit with hospital staff and hear their stories firsthand,” said Anna Barlow, CCMH Board of Directors member. “The dedication of CCMH staff to patient care through the many challenges of the last few years is truly inspiring.”

Hospital staff had the opportunity to share public healthcare priorities identified by CCMH’s most recent Community Health Needs Assessment and Rep. McGaugh addressed questions concerning several House Bills with topics ranging from Certificate of Need to Time Critical Diagnosis.

Rep. McGaugh represents Ray, Chariton and Carroll counties. She served 32 years in the Carroll County Clerk’s office prior to being elected to the Missouri House of Representatives.
