A Marshall man has been arrested and charged with felonies after an alleged incident on Thursday, April 28.

A report from the Marshall Police Department says an officer responded to the department’s lobby to talk to a woman who said she had been assaulted by Charity Futauo Rain. She said during a disagreement, Rain pulled her hair and used his open hand to hit her on both sides of her face two to three times.

The officer reported seeing the woman having dark bruising on both of her cheekbones and a scratch on her chest about four inches long.

The woman also said Rain threatened to stab her if she went to the police.

According to court documents, Rain is charged with felonies for domestic assault in the third degree and tampering or attempting to tamper with a victim in a felony prosecution. Rain is being held without bond.

Rain was arraigned on April 29. His next hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Saline County Circuit Court.
