Just before the Marshall Tourism Committee’s Wine Walk begins on the Marshall Square, owners and their puppy dogs are invited to the northwest corner of the square for the Wonder Dog Day event.

The event- filled with contests for owners and their pooches- begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 14.

The City of Marshall Tourism Coordinator Shelby Dawson explains some of the details.

Dawson says prizes will be given out to the best dogs in several events.

The event is held to celebrate the life and feats of Jim the Wonder Dog- the state of Missouri’s Official Wonder Dog. The Jim the Wonder Dog Memorial Garden is adjacent to the Marshall Welcome Center.
