An area city’s officials have issued a Burn Ban.

Officials in the city of Sedalia say that due to dry conditions and excessive temperatures in the forecast, open burning, including recreational burn pits, is banned.

The use of barbecue grills is still authorized, as long as the grill has a lid to cover the fire while cooking.

The Burn Ban is in effect until further notice.
