Margaret Elaine “Grandma” Garrett, 89, of Buffalo, MO, formerly of Marshall, passed away November 19, 2022, at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 25, 2022, at St. William Catholic Church, 404 Locust St., Buffalo, MO 65622, with Fr. Simon Enudu officiating.  A visitation with rosary will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church.  A second visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.  Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Ridge Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St. Peter Catholic Church or St. Peter Catholic School in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, 226 S.  Born April 27, 1933, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Cletus and Veda Mudd Bowles.  Elaine lived in Marshall most of her life and was a 1951 graduate of Mercy Academy.  On April 21, 1954, she married Russell “Curly” Garrett who preceded her in death on May 17, 2014.  Elaine spent over 20 years working on the family farm and then began a 25 year long journey at Con-Agra Frozen Foods in Marshall.  Elaine was never one to just be idle, so after her retirement she then joined the Foster Grandparent Program where she touched countless lives in the kindergarten classroom for 28 years.  Elaine was a longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall and when she moved to Buffalo in 2018 she then joined St. William Catholic Church.

 She is survived by one daughter, Cindy Garrett (David Larson) of Phoenix, AZ; one granddaughter, McKenzie Hicks (Cody) of Buffalo, MO; three great-granddaughters: Kayden Rose, Josie Lane and Ellie Marie Hicks; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine was preceded in death by one son, Robert “Bobby” Garrett; and four brothers: Charles, Marvin, Jim and Robert Bowles.
