The Slater School District Board of Education approved updates to the district’s base salary during its meeting on Tuesday, March 28.

The current base salary for teachers in the district is $34,500. Superintendent Terry Lorenz said the school board approved an increase in the base salary.

Lorenz said the base salary will increase to $35,500.

In other news, Lorenz said the district is offering an additional health care plan for staff.

Lorenz said the option is available for staff, but the cost of the deductible is high.
