Pablo Lopez pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings, leading the Minnesota Twins to a 2-0 victory over the Kansas City Royals.

Lopez out dueled Royals’ starter Zack Greinke, who gave up 2 runs over 5 1/3 innings with 4 strikeouts. Lopez struck out 8 and walked three.

The Twins got both of their runs in the sixth off RBI singles from Trevor Larnach and Donovan Solano. Kansas City had two hits the entire afternoon- a single from Salvador Perez and a double by Kyle Isbel.

The Royals went 0-6 with runners in scoring position.

Both teams have the day off today, but will continue their series Saturday afternoon. The Royals will send Jordan Lyles to take on Sonny Gray and the Twins.
