A suspect believed to be involved in a homicide in the Oak Grove area has been apprehended.

The suspect was the subject of a pursuit on Wednesday, April 19 to Saline County.

Deputies from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol were involved in a search late yesterday afternoon and overnight. The suspect fled from the vehicle on foot and the search continued this morning.

The alleged suspect is identified as Charles Smith of Cape Girardeau according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
