Central Missouri Honor Flight (CMHF) will be flying 98 veterans on a trip of a lifetime to Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, May 30. The passenger list for mission number 66 will include 3 Korean War veterans, 1 Korean War and Vietnam veteran, as well as 94 Vietnam veterans. The honor flight list also includes two sets of brothers. All 98 veterans will fly to the nation’s capital to see the memorials dedicated to their military service-and to have the opportunity for long-awaited closure.

All honor flight deserving heroes will enjoy a one-day tour of the WWII Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Battle of Iwo Jima Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. At the Tomb of the Unknowns, our honor flight veterans are quietly and respectfully acknowledged during the Changing of the Guard.

CMHF’s 66th mission departs Columbia at 1:45am Tuesday, May 30, and returns to a rousing homecoming at 9:45 p.m. at the Columbia Courtyard by Marriott on Tuesday. Traveling with them will be a medical team as well as guardians who assist veterans with wheelchairs, walkers, oxygen, and companionship on the flight.

The public is encouraged to arrive at the Courtyard by Marriott, located at 3301 Lemone Industrial Drive in Columbia, at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30 to get a good view of the returning veterans. The veterans are scheduled to arrive at 9:45 p.m.

Honor flights are provided at no cost to the veterans.
