Travelers are now able to use the Bonne Femme Creek bridge on U.S. Route 40 in Howard County, southeast of New Franklin, just in time for the holiday weekend. After closing in March for a bridge deck replacement project, contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) were able to reopen the bridge to all traffic on Friday, May 26.

While motorists are once again able to use the bridge, work will continue next week as the contractor finishes the final stages of the job. During weekday, daylight hours May 29 through June 9, the roadway will be narrowed to one lane at the bridge and temporary traffic signals will be in place to guide traffic through the work zone.

More information about this project is available here. All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
