The Glasgow Board of Aldermen approved an ordinance involving discharging firearms in the city limits during its meeting on Monday, June 12.

According to City Administrator Andrew Frazier, the city previously had no ordinance making it a violation to discharge firearms in the city. The ordinance was approved with board members Joey Gibbs, Donna Burns and Art Westhues voting yes and Eric Monnig voting no.

The board also approved an ordinance to establish a procedure to disclose potential conflicts of interest and substantial interest for certain municipal officials. The city can now determine if there is a potential conflict with no deadline.

In other news from the meeting, the board approved allowing fireworks usage in the city until midnight on July 3 and 10 p.m. on July 4 provided no fire bans are in place.
