The Kansas City Royals erased a 4-0 deficit for a 9-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday, June 24.

The Rays struck first off of Royals starter Jordan Lyles by scoring two runs in each the first and second inning. Wander Franco hit his ninth homer of the year.

Lyles settled in afterward, throwing four scoreless innings to put him in line to win his first game of the year. Lyles went six innings, allowing four runs on eight hits with two strikeouts.

Kansas City’s offense came to life in the third. The Royals scored three in the third, four in the fourth, and one each in the sixth and eighth. Edward Olivares, Drew Waters, and Freddy Fermin all went deep for Kansas City.

Nick Pratto and Bobby Witt Jr. each had two RBI in the game.
