Cleveland rookie Gavin Williams went 5 2/3 innings to win his first game in his major league career. He gave up three runs and struck out seven batters.
Bobby Witt Jr. had a three-hit day for the Royals, including a home run and a triple. He was a double away from the cycle.
The Royals pulled within a run in the eighth inning, but the Guardians scored three more insurance runs to pull away 10-6.
The Royals have fallen to 25-65 on the season.
