The Pettis County Fire District responded to a structure fire at 11:04 a.m. Saturday, July 22.

The fire occurred at East Highway 50 and North Maple Road.

A Pumper arrived on scene at 11:10 to find an abandoned commercial structure heavily involved with fire through the roof. Due to the fire conditions fire personnel went into defensive operations.

3 pumpers, 1 ladder, 4 tankers and 16 firefighters responded to the incident. No injuries were reported. The fire was under control at 11:29. All units cleared the scene at 12:41 p.m.

The Pettis County Ambulance District provided medical standby and the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department assisted with traffic control during the incident.
