The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved a memorandum of understanding with the Lafayette County C-1 school district for a school resource officer during its meeting on Monday, August 7.

City Administrator Jeannette Dobson stated the agreement has to be approved yearly with the district and the the resource officer is paid by the school while conducting duties for the district.

In other news, the board approved the yearly disclosure of potential conflicts of interest ordinance by certain city officials. Dobson stated this disclosure is required by state statute.
