The Higginsville Board of Aldermen amended the use standards chart for downtown businesses during its meeting on Monday, August 21.

City Administrator Jeanette Dobson stated a laundry business has interest in opening in the area and the board needed to amend the zoning for the business. Dobson also stated automotive and appliance repair had not been allowed, so the board added those to approved businesses.

In other news from the meeting, the board recognized Blayne Homfeld for five years of service in the water department.
