The Lexington City Council approved a continuing contract with the Lexington School District for a school resource officer during its meeting on Tuesday, September 12.

City Administrator Mark O’Dell stated the city contributes half of the salary for the officer and the agreement has worked well for both entities.

O’Dell also gave an update on current street work in the city.

In other news, the council approved installation and internet service for the new water treatment plant. TurboNet was approved by the council for the service with the cost of installation $500 and a monthly fee of $105.
