Saline County Assessor Jessica Goodman delivered a response to the statement made by the Saline County Commission on November 9, regarding the disputes with the Assessor’s fund.
Goodman alleges that the statement issued by the Commission was factually not true. Goodman also refers back to a November 1 letter from the Missouri State Tax Commission, which says that the Commission was in violation of Section 137.720 of the Missouri State Law.
Goodman also alleges that the Commission made a conscious decision to not fund her office after the county budget was approved in February. Some of the funds from the county budget are to be allocated to the Assessor’s Office.
The Saline County Commission did deliver the funds to the Assessor’s budget during its meeting on November 8, but Goodman says this was only in response to the letter from the State tax Commission, which claimed that the County Commission was in violation of the Missouri State law.
