The Missouri Department of Agriculture reached out to KMMO to discuss the license situation between the Saline Animal League, the City of Marshall, and the Marshall Animal Shelter.

Animal Care Program Manager Matt Rold said the Saline Animal League’s license was invalidated on December 1 on Danita Philliphs’ request.

Phillips, with the Saline Animal League, was the manager of the Marshall Animal Shelter and was mentioned in the interview with Rold.

When the city of Marshall found out the animal shelter at 325 North Grant was operating without a license, they seized operation of the shelter and submitted a license request to the Department of Agriculture. The Saline Animal League does have a license to operate at 665 West Clay Street.
