The Sedalia City Council approved an ordinance to amend the overtime compensation policy during its most recent meeting.

City Administrator Kelvin Shaw says the city receives grants from the Department of Public Safety to pay overtime wages for police officers. Shaw said there is a desire to increase the overtime wage with more grant money.

The council approved the update to the overtime policy.

The council also approved an ordinance for the rental of a trailer mounted belt press for the Central Wastewater Treatment plant.
