On October 25, 2023, the Marshall Police responded to a distress call reporting an assault. Upon reaching the location on East Rea Street in Marshall, officers successfully located both the caller and the victim of the assault.

The witness recounted seeing the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Anthony Karpan, entering the residence. Karpan proceeded to assault the victim by using pepper spray and tasering the victim.

The severity of the attack led to the victim being transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital for necessary medical treatment.

Charges have been filed against Anthony Karpan, including Burglary in the 1st degree and assault in the third degree.

Karpan’s bond has been set at $15,000, payable in cash or surety.
