Garage sale permits are no longer required in the City of Sedalia.

The Sedalia City Council voted at their December 18, 2023 meeting to remove permit requirements for garage or rummage sales. Therefore, residents will no longer need to get a permit before having a garage or rummage sale.

In general, any resident can hold a garage or yard sale up to three times a year and each sale can be up to two days in duration. The council decided the permitting requirements were overly bureaucratic and burdensome, which is the reasoning behind eliminating them.
