
Omar John Lovercamp, 87, of Corder, MO, died Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Good Shepherd Care Community in Concordia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma, with Pastor Bernard Ross officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2024, at the church. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church Choir, Trinity Lutheran Church or American Diabetes Association in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born December 22, 1936, in Corder, he was the son of the late Omar Theodore George Lovercamp and Bertha Caroline Vogel Lovercamp. On December 28, 1969, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia, he married Bonnie June Clayton who survives of the home. Omar was a lifelong Corder/Alma resident and farmer, a farmer’s hybrid dealer, McNess Feed dealer, Cargill Seed dealer, and served on the board of the Alma Fire District. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Men’s Club, sang in the church choir and held many offices and leadership roles within the church.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; one son, Omar John Lovercamp Jr. (Stefany) of Concordia; one grandson, Alex Prindle of Concordia; five siblings, Vera Waak, Ann Meyer, Geraldine Wagner (Gene), Helen Fliege and Kenneth Lovercamp (Barbara); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Omar was preceded in death by one brother, Karl Lovercamp; and three sisters, Ruby Hemme, Ruth Bredehoeft and Margaret Wulser.
