A Marshall man was arrested after area authorities served a search warrant on February 13.

The search warrant was executed by the Mid Missouri Drug Task Force, Lafayette County Drug Task Force, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Pettis County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marshall Police Department.

During the execution of the search warrant, a suspect from Marshall was taken into custody. A search revealed 26 grams of raw fentanyl, 52 counterfeit M30 pills (fentanyl), 35 adderall, ecstasy; over $5,000 in cash was seized, and hundreds of empty capsules to be filled with fentanyl were seized. Ammunition was also located and seized as the suspect is prohibited from such possession.

According to the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office, the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force began investigating a target for the sale of fentanyl in Pettis and Saline Counties in December 2023.

An agreement was reached from the Lafayette County Drug Task Force and Saline County Sheriff’s Office to extend the investigation to their jurisdictions as all of our counties and citizens were being impacted by the deadly substance. As the investigation continued into January of 2024, it was determined that more resources were needed. The target was traveling over larger areas of the State selling fentanyl in many jurisdictions.

The Lafayette County Drug Task Force joined the investigation full time with the Mid MO Drug Task Force. Throughout the investigation, the East Central Drug Task Force, the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office provided assistance. In the later stages of the investigation, the Mustang Drug Task Force joined the investigation.

Formal charges are being brought against the suspect. KMMO will update this story when more information becomes available.
