Kansas City’s lone run came off a first inning homer from Maikel Garcia.
Cole Ragans pitched a quality start, going six innings, giving up two runs, while striking out nine. Pablo Lopez went seven innings, giving up one run, while striking out seven for the Twins.
The Royals will be back in action on Saturday, March 30, to face the Twins for the second game in the series.
