A resurfacing project originally scheduled to begin Monday, April 1, on Missouri Route 5 in Chariton County near Salisbury has been postponed to Monday, April 8, due to forecasted weather.

This project also includes the resurfacing of Carroll County Route 41 near De Witt and Linn County Route 5 near Marceline. Contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation expect to complete construction by May.

Beginning Monday, April 8, crews will narrow Chariton County Route 5 to one lane with flaggers directing motorists through the work zone. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place.

Route 5 will be closed for two weeks under the BNSF Railroad bridge in Marceline (Linn County) and the Norfolk Southern Railroad bridge west of Salisbury (Chariton County) for concrete repairs.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
