The Trails Regional Library Board of Trustees in Lafayette and Johnson County is reporting board member vacancies.

This is an unpaid volunteer position. Board members serve 4-year terms and attend meetings once a month, with occasional special-called meetings possible. Potential board members should be interested in helping the library grow in service and scope in order to best meet the needs of the community.

Other specific duties include:
-Serving as a public figure for the library to increase public awareness and support of library services and initiatives.
-Providing strategic direction for effective planning.
-Setting policy, adopting the annual budget, and promoting overall excellence in public library services.
