A two-vehicle crash was reported on Interstate 70 in Cooper County on Monday, May 13.

According to a report, the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by John Spiers crossed through the median, struck the cables and entered the eastbound lanes of traffic. An oncoming freightliner driven by James Hathman struck Spiers’ vehicle.

Spiers was transported to University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Hathman suffered minor injuries.

The crash occurred at 4:57 p.m. on westbound I-70 in Cooper County.
