
A state FFA officer can add to her list of leadership roles Queen of the Missouri State Fair.
Claire Walker of Chillicothe earned the crown among the field of 31 contestants. Walker tells KMMO News that her family has a long tradition of competing at the fair.
Walker will represent the fair over the next year, and adds that she’s excited to take in this year’s fair.
She encourages youth in agriculture to be willing to explore new opportunities.
Walker represented the Livingston County Fair and is a mentor to this year’s Missouri FFA state officer team. In addition to her tiara, Walker will receive a $2000 scholarship to continue her studies at the University of Missouri.
First runner-up and a $1000 scholarship went to Rachel Ancell of Moberly. She represented the Missouri Sheep Producers Association and won the speech portion of the pageant.
