The City of Sedalia has announced its newest Chief Building Official, Bryan Kopp.

Kopp comes to the City with over 24 years of experience in building, code, and community development. As the Chief Building Official, Kopp will be responsible for overseeing all building-related activities within the City, including building permits, inspections, and code enforcement. City Administrator Kelvin Shaw said that Kopp’s experience make him a good fit with the city.

Kopp has obtained 24 different certifications through the International Code Council (ICC) including residential and commercial code. Most notable, Kopp has achieved Certified Building Official, Building Plans Examiner, and Certified Floodplain Manager.

Kopp will be working with the community to promote safe and sustainable development in Sedalia beginning on August 26.
