Vernon Ohrenberg, 84, of Concordia, MO, died on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Burial with military rites will be in the Missouri State Veterans’ Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.  Memorials are suggested to Concordia Senior Citizens, Inc. (Building Fund), Concordia Senior Center (Food Fund), or Crossroads Hospice Care. A meal will follow the burial at Concordia Baptist Church. Vernon was born on April 26, 1940, near Ernestville, MO, the son of the late Walter Ohrenberg and Helen (Brackman) Ohrenberg. Vernon graduated from Concordia High School in the Class of 1957 and graduated from Central Missouri State College with a degree in Industrial Technology Education. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and was at Ft. Knox, Kentucky for two years. On May 11, 1968, he married Carol Sue Smith and she survives of the home. He was an architectural designer/detailer for Burns & McDonnell for over 30 years. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO

Vernon is survived by his wife, Carol; two children, Kent (April) Ohrenberg and Julie (Kyle) Fiene of Concordia; four grandchildren, Kailey and Gavin Ohrenberg and Lauren and Kellen Fiene of Concordia; one brother, Robert (Carolyn) Ohrenberg of Columbia, MO; and his nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Wesley Ohrenberg and his wife Ruth (Schmoe) Ohrenberg of Springfield, MO.
