Ragans went six shutout innings, giving up four hits and striking out eight. Lucas Erceg pitched the final four outs to earn the save.
The Royals got their only run in the sixth inning after Bobby Witt Jr. drove in Maikel Garcia with a single.
With the win, Kansas City is now one win away from advancing the American League Division Series.
